Ginsberg, Morris
(1889-1970)
An early professor of sociology in Britain, notable mainly for his influence on generations of inter-war and post-war sociologists at the London School of Economics and Political Science, and an early textbook on Sociology (1934). His published work mainly comprises rather moralistic essays on topics such as’The Idea of Progress’, ‘The Nature of Responsibility’, and ‘The Unity of Mankind’ (see his three volumes of Essays in Sociology and Social Philosophy, 1947-61).
